WG: Marketing and Outreach

Goal: To ensure the Referee project successfully raises bounties and recruits a diverse pool of participants to the project

Critical success factors:

  • A sufficient number of bounties are raised to attract paper reviewers

  • Buy-in from people with the right expertise to evaluate papers

Specific necessary conditions and actions:

  • Expertise in helping clients prioritize bounties

  • Outreach across geographical and cultural boundaries

  • Integration with existing platforms (e.g. Google Scholar) to increase the transmission of paper reliability scores

  • Outreach programs to non-academic communities to diversify the pool of reviewers and perspectives.
